Sassure's Biography
Based in the Boston area (spending Summers in Portsmouth, NH), I have been pushing a World/pop/rap/rock/acoustic synthesis in my last four CDs, LINEAR LOVE, THE VANILLA WORLD VIEW CD, DANCE IT FORWARD, and EMERGENCE. My new CD, ARCHIPELAGOS, a tropical/pop/Latin/world/rock/jazz concept, will be out on cdbaby.com soon, although you can find an early release of it with a slightly different tracklist at indiepad.com. An admirer of the best in English/American music (Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, Genesis, Dylan, Springsteen, Paul Simon), in Spanish music (Miguel Bose, Complices, J. M. Serrat), and in Latin American music (Cafe Tacuba, Juan Luis Guerra, Fito Paez, Mana, Charly Garcia, Enanitos Verdes, Bacilos, Luis Alberto Spinetta, Pedro Aznar), I can be found in Los Angeles, Boston, Mexico City, San Miguel de Allende, Austin, or Portsmouth NH working on synthesizing my favorite sounds into something that cannot be easily labeled or categorized. Mine is content, the songs themselves, and morphing our music into something new and exploratory. I'm doing what I do with a purpose, though with time I'm coming to realize just what that purpose is. Watch for experiments in this area.....and please let me know what you like or don't like. The music industry is getting a total-whack makeover/shakeover, and I'm either one of the causes, or one of the results.
