VERNES VORTEX's Biography
Biography Vernes Vortex
• We are an unsigned self-produced band formed in 2005 from Montreal Canada. You could attempt to sum up the style of the band, but after getting the songs reviewed by quite a bit of musicians on cyberspace, we came to the conclusion that, it doesn’t sound like any bands out there, and that has always been Mike Brentwood’s (vocals, guitarist, writer and composer’s) goal. One of the particularities of Vernes Vortex are the lyrics, which have been inspired mostly by sci-fi. While some of the songs have well-placed moments of delicacy creating special moods, the strongest sounds are the ones that are layered thickly but distinctly, allowing the listener to suss out each element of the song, often with a background of a 12 string acoustic guitar and a driving electric guitar with tight drums and percussions with Mike Brentwood’s smooth voice just gliding along creating that magic moment in the land of cerebral illusion. Songs such as, INTRUSION, SUPERMAN and DREAMING, reflect these passages with lyrics such as in Dreaming “Wake your mind and reach in…find yourself believing”…which sums it up quite well! Our passion is to create music and lyrics that let’s us travel to dimensions within ourselves in the parallel universe of our minds and to share it with the world!
